Ispod njega se lo\u017eila vatra, kako bi se fermentirano vo\u0107e (\u201ckom\u201d), koji se stavlja u njega, doveo do vrenja. Iz ugrijanog se koma, u obliku pare, izdvaja alkohol (destilacija koma).<\/p>\n<p>GORNJI KOTAO \u2013 KAPA Napravljen je od keramike i glaziran je u tamnozelenoj boji. Valjkasta je oblika s jednom kerami\u010dkom ispu\u0161nom cijevi. Grijanjem donjeg dijela kotla (kotli\u0107a) u kojem se nalazi kom, alkoholna i vodena para sti\u017eu do ovog dijela kazana koji ih prikuplja i usmjerava kroz ispu\u0161nu cijev. Ova je, vrlo rijetka i stara, kerami\u010dka gornja kapa otkupljena u Bo\u0161njacima.<\/p>\n<p>BAKRENA CIJEV Posljednja, u nizu sastavnih dijelova, je duga\u010dku cijev kojom se spaja gornji kotao (kapa) s posudom za hla\u0111enje. Prednji dio cijevi \u0161iri je u odnosu na donji i zavr\u0161ava spiralno, kako bi mu se na taj na\u010din \u0161to vi\u0161e pove\u0107ala povr\u0161ina, tj. produ\u017eio put unutar kojeg se alkoholne i vodene pare hlade i kondenziraju (pretvaraju u teku\u0107inu, tj. rakiju). Cijev se polagala u ba\u010dvu s hladnom vodom kako bi se pare \u0161to u\u010dinkovitije i br\u017ee ohladile, tj. kondenzirale.
